Bonnie Lass was bred by Ginny and Joe Winkler at Journey's End Farm.  Bonnie is our foundation mare emanating the
very pony we wish to steward.  Her Sire, Charlie, is a top performance producing stallion by the 2006 Tooreen Laddie
Award Winner Greystone Dallen McMor.   Her exceptional conformation and disposition earns her the Queen title on
the farm.   She is breathtaking in her movement in all three gaits!  Bonnie was successfully campaigned in 2007 on the
Competitive Trail Circuit.   She is amazing in rough terrain with exceptional handiness over the miles and an unflappable
attitude toward adventure.   Bonnie is inspected and approved by the American Connemara Pony Society.
Angel was also bred by Ginny and Joe Winkler.  She combines both their high level performance stallion lines.
Thanks to Ginny and Joe, Angel has returned to Avelene this year to stay.  She exceeded our expectations as a
four year old last summer and will continue to impress all as she matures.  This beautiful pony  is an excellent example of
this breed.    She is forward, substantial, highly tractable, surefooted, correct, and very easy to be with.   We are so
thrilled to have her on our farm and anxiously await her performance career.
Lilli was bred by Kathy Manyo from Ledgewood Farm in Ohio.  She is all Greystone!  Her
grandsires are exceptional stallions contributing  consistent characteristics to the breed.  Lilli has the
largest most inviting eye on the prettiest little head!  As a yearling, she demonstrates typical
Greystone sensitivity.  Her sire,  Pam Liddell's Will has contributed sizeable bone to Lilli with nicer
than average angles from hip to hock.  Her movement is very correct and classic already.  We look
forward to watching her grow and mature.
Purebred Connemara Ponies
When you decide to join forces with a Connemara Pony, you are choosing a breed of pony
that has an incredible history with mankind.  They were bred and raised in Ireland to suit the
needs of families farming in the rugged terrain of Connemara. This pony is hardy, surefooted,
extremely intelligent, and versatile in abilities with incredible stamina.  They are best known for
their exceptional dispositions and adaptability.  An Irish family had the luxury of only one
good pony; a mare that would offer them a foal yearly to sell, a powerful frame to pull a plow
and carry a creel, and an amazing work ethic for long days without rest.  She was a member of
the family.  Connemara Ponies bond strongly with their people and love to be handled daily.
They are of the largest among the pony breeds with great ability to carry adults as well as
children.   In the United States, the largest market for The Connemara Breeder is middle
aged women.  Fortunately for the breed and it's stewards, fewer than 100 purebred foals are
born in the United States annually on small family operated farms scattered across the
continent.  In this way, American breeders strive to stay true to type.  The summer of 2006
marked the 50th Anniversary of the American Connemara Pony Society!

Thanks to Megan Buchanan Harris of Bramble Ridge Farm, Wildwych Cricket is now a Northern Girl!  This
photo is of Megan schooling Cricket at Poplar Place on the cross country course.  As you can see, she loved it!
Cricket was bred by Mary Prewitt of Wildwych Connemaras in Colorado.  This is our second Wildwych Pony!
Our desire to introduce the Glenormiston line and it's influence on our American Connemaras motivated us
toward Cricket and having such a wonderful example of this potential.  Cricket
is a half sister to our new stud
colt, Wildwych Lothario.  Like Rio, she exemplifies the breed disposition and versatility.   In 2008, Cricket will
begin competing in distance riding.  We will also continue her training over fences and in dressage.

Cricket traveled to Massachusetts for the Equine Affaire as an
ambassador pony for the ACPS
last November!  She represented
Wildwych Connemaras, Avelene, and Bramble Ridge Farm in the
breed booth as well as
performing in the breed demonstration.  If you
had the fortune of enjoying the Equine Affaire, you likely did not miss
meeting this pony!
